I love long sleeve henleys. Especially in colder weather, henleys are an essential layering piece but can also be

worn by themselves. A henley shirt is a collarless pullover with a placket at the neckline that contains 2 to 5 buttons. They are available in both short and long sleeves and in a variety of fabrics but cotton tends to be the most popular. Henleys are incredibly versatile. Henleys were named for the town of Henley-on-Thames in England. Englishmen popularized the henley shirt while wearing them during rowing.

Getting back to the versatility of henleys, I've been experimenting with wearing them in unexpected ways. For instance, I recently wore one under a v-neck sweater and it looked pretty cool. I've also seen some guys wear their henleys under a blazer to dress down a more formal look. You can pretty much substitute a henley for any instance where a button down or sweater can be worn.
