On Trend: NYFW:M Recap

The shows are over and the presentations are done. New York Fashion Week: Men's (NYFW:M) 2017 took place last week and it didn't disappoint. NYFW:M takes place twice a year, in January and July in Manhattan. Typically, there are 60 to 70 designers presenting collections and it's all menswear! There were venerable favorites like Hugo Boss, Perry Ellis and Park & Ronen as well as showings by a lot of young upstarts such as Carlos Campos, Represent, and Death to Tennis. From the live music in the Todd Snyder show to the bold colors presented by Patrik Ervell, NYFW:M offered something for everyone to enjoy and picture themselves wearing. Designers debuted menswear collections for the upcoming spring/summer 2018 season.

Why NYFW:Men's?

The intent of NYFW:M is to have the fashion industry only focus on menswear for four days in order for buyers, editors and the rest of the fashion industry to have a preview of what's to come. The menswear segment continues to experience growth with no sign of slowing down. Some of the themes of the collections included: modern, tailored casual wear in contemporary cuts; active wear in bold colors; stripes and prints continue to be popular; the suit is still relevant but how it is worn is changing and . Some of my favorite looks are below, enjoy and stay stylish friends.
