Here are two of the fall 2017 menswear collaborations I’m excited to see on the streets this season. Taking cues from street style trends, these designer capsule collections will help you add trendy pieces to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. Whether the collaboration is led by a celebrity or designer, the partnership is mutually beneficial with retailers. Designers or celebrities have an opportunity to create brand awareness for their collections and reach a new market as well as satisfy their existing fans. Retailers gain increased foot traffic leading to additional sales. Price points for collaboration pieces range from the low to high range ensuring something for every budget.
Gap x GQ As part of GQ magazine's search for "The Coolest Designers on the Planet", 3 designers were selected to create capsule collections for Gap stores. The collections will be available September 26, only in select Gap stores worldwide and gap.com. The 3 designers are United Arrows (Japan), Kinfolk (United States) and AMI (France). For more information, checkout gap.com/gq.
Kinfolk, based in New York, is a high-end streetwear brand that uses graphics as a reflection of the culture and how we express ourselves. Using apparel as the canvas, Kinfolk uses bold graphics to reflect the culture and make a statement.
Using Japanese stitching techniques, United Arrows blends Japanese culture with American denim to create pieces that express the heritage of each country. Each piece displays detailing that is sure to be attention-grabbing.
Bringing luxury and affordability to the masses is the intent of French designer Alexandre Mattiussi combines a French aesthetic with American sensibilities to make a collection that is very casual, very easy and very AMI.
H&M x The Weeknd
Singer The Weeknd will unveil his 2nd collection for fast fashion retailer, H&M on September 28th worldwide. The "Selected By The Weeknd" collection features hoodies, T-shirts, a varsity jacket, and a parka, each prominently displaying the his name or his label and crew's XO insignia. The Weeknd feels his collection is another way for fans to become part of a global community that shares the same or similar point of view and speaks the same language.
These pieces are fun, edgy and fashion-forward with a bit of whimsy which are the perfect elements for a street style collection. Stop by H&M and the Gap to see these collections in person. They are perfect pieces to add to your fall wardrobe for those times when you want to wear something casual but still stand out from the crowd. Let me know which fall collaborations you are looking forward to this season.
Stay stylish friends...
