If Thanksgiving is the day to share a meal and enjoy family and friends then Black Friday is the day to do or buy something special for yourself. After all, you survived Aunt Mary's overcooked turkey and Uncle Jim's dull stories--you deserve to treat yourself. Once you decide how you'll spend Black Friday, you'll need to figure out what to wear. If you plan to hit the mall, one of my favorite looks for a casual, cool fall day is a leather jacket, zip up hoodie, jeans and high top sneakers. This is an effortless and stylish look that elevates basic weekend casual to next level style. A black leather jacket is sleek, a zip up hoodie adds texture and classic leather sneakers add refinement. Alternatively, you can swap out the sneakers for a dark cap toe or Chelsea boot to dress up your look. However, I think sneakers are best for a full day of walking comfort.
I prefer the Levi's Trucker jacket for weekend errands. The trucker jacket style is classic and timeless like Levi's denim. You can wear it with slim fit dress trousers, chinos or joggers. It's a versatile piece that will get a lot of use in your wardrobe. Because of it's lighter weight, you can layer it underneath an overcoat for some added finesse. As for denim, I'm wearing Levi's 511's in black, they have a bit of spandex for flexibility but won't stretch out after all day wear. I picked up a slim fit, zip up hoodie to add some texture and finished the look off with a plain, white t-shirt.
Black Friday is a busy day filled with shopping and deal hunting. If you decide to participate, make sure you're stylishly dressed. You don't have to go overboard, just keep it confident and comfortable. Let me know how you plan to spend Black Friday.
